The Cyclones are worse off without Bates. It is never good when the best athlete on the team doesn’t see the field and ends us walking away from the program. Austin played solid in the first half against KU but not perfect. Don’t forget about the fumble in the red zone. The second half the offense needed a spark and after two 3 and out series I was suprised that Bates didn’t see the field. Coach Chizik made it clear to Bates but not putting him in that he was not needed on the team. Bates has that special ability to make something out of nothing. Too bad that he won’t be doing it for the Clones. I wish him luck.

If Iowa scores a TD and wins 20-16 I wonder if you would have tried to put a negative spin on it, my guess is yes. Look Iowa is a young team also they are no different then ISU they do have a better D which will keep them in most games, dont give me the big 12 is all that Kansas St stinks Nebraska’s D is lousy Colorado is iffy and those teams will get at least 28 on the Clones. Dont get me wrong here I would love to see ISU win there is nothing wrong with both teams being good, it would be great for the state not to mention the game itself, Im not going to sit here and tell how great the big 10 is cause its not but for cryin out loud give the Hawks a break they are trying just like IOWA STATE is trying they are just losing in different ways then the clones. My positive spin on the Iowa/Mich St game they held Ringer down only one good carry the shut down Mich St and only gave them 10 points that they earned on their own, once they stop turning the ball over those will be wins, and I think its easier to stop turning the ball over then it is to play good Defense like ISU doesnt. Lets hope both teams start this weekend so YOU can write something positive about Iowa.
